Caroline's Edit

Because We're Obsessed | Apr 28, 2025

Introducing my Edit: a pop up at TANK GPS in W1, featuring a selection of clothes, accessories and beauty products that enrich my life.

By Caroline Issa

For the next two weeks, we're hosting my curated edits of some of my favourite pieces and things. I’ve handpicked them for 1. their everyday usefulness and 2. their perfected form. From the essential Sunspel t-shirt I layer with every outfit, to my summer smell from Matiere Premiere, to the well-cut tailoring of a Bella Freud jacket and my go-to leather trousers from Joseph.

These are not seasonal pieces - they're for life. Come by TANK GPS, 91-93 Great Portland Street, London W1W 7NX, Monday-Saturday 11am-6pm for the next three weeks. Quantities are limited, so come early to discover them yourself.

MIKA LAPID NECKLACES

£85

I bought my first Mika Lapid necklace when the artist Tai Shaini shared her work, and was instantly drawn to the joy of the charms, as well as the cause each sale was contributing to (here too, at least 50% of proceeds will go to MSF UK, which is supporting critical aid in Palestine). The selection we're selling has new charms made by Mika herself (to add to her found ones). I throw on the necklace with any outfit I need to jazz up and it becomes a talking point. I got addicted to them and now they also serve as my go-to presents for friends.

BELLA FREUD BLAZER

£840

I love Bella Freud for so many reasons, and just one of them is her perfectly cut tailoring - her blazers are a masterclass in modern elegance. This one, cut from light linen that still holds its shape, has that signature Bella silhouette: a subtle curve at the waist and a sharp shoulder that makes you feel instantly put-together. I’ll be wearing it all summer with everything. Bella's been defining cool since her Westood days, and her attention to detail, in both cut and fabric, means her pieces always feel special. Also, if you haven’t listened to her Fashion Neurosis podcast yet, you must.

MATIÈRE PREMIÈRE ORANGE NEROLI

£165

I have a fragrance wardrobe (I know, I know - fancy!) but I do switch out my winter and my summer fragrances and the one I wear a ton is Matière Première's Orange Neroli -  it’s light and fresh but deep with Tunisian orange blossom, neroli oil and bergamot. The brand (founded by three fragrance veterans in 2019) builds each scent around one hero ingredient, and uses up to 92% natural, ethically sourced components. My 50ml bottle has lasted me a year, even with multiple spritzes -  and its high orange blossom concentration (one of the highest concentrations in the entire industry, I might add) means it wafts subtly all day. A worthwhile investment.

SUNSPEL BOY FIT T-SHIRT

£90

Quite simply, the perfect white tee - I’ve been searching for the best layering tee for a while, and this one from British heritage brand Sunspel is IT. The clean neckline, gently boxy cut and soft yet structured cotton make it the ultimate essential. Made in the UK since 1860, Sunspel’s elevated basics never disappoint. I wear this with everything, and I’m about to invest in more colours. I also recently got their pleated trousers, which are turning into another staple - pair it with the tee and a Mika necklace and Bob’s your uncle!

MEMO PRESS CARDS

£4.95

Surely I’m not the only one still sending cards? Ever since discovering Memo Press, I’ve been posting Alice Edwards’ hand-painted designs to friends and family. They’re made on thick Italian paper using antique presses, and the illustrations (from dinosaurs to baseballs, cake to ladybugs) are so charming. One of my go-to birthday gifts is her personalized notecard sets (she even does the calligraphy!). When in doubt, send a Memo Press card - it makes you look like a gift-giving genius and keeps the love of snail mail alive.

JOSEPH LEATHER TROUSERS

£1045

I’ve worn the British brand, JOSEPH’s Leather Stretch leggings for the past for 12 years, and they’ve stood the test of time. So when I needed a new pair, I got their Duke leather stretch trouser fit instead from the Foundations Collection - and I’m hooked. The leather is buttery but tough wearing, and the cut sits just right on the waist. The small kick flare at the hems is my favourite detail; short enough to show a good amount of ankle, meaning I can pair them with any shoe, even for black tie. Versatile, timeless and well worth the investment, especially if they last another 12 years!

EMMA LEWISHAM SUPERNATURAL FACE OIL

£78

I always thought oil was a bad idea for combination skin until a facialist proved me wrong. Since then I’ve tried many, but the one I keep coming back to is Emma Lewisham’s. It’s packed with 23 active ingredients and somehow manages to feel both light and deeply nourishing. I’ve just finished my first bottle (after a year of scrimping!) and love that I can get a refill to reuse the same one. The brand, founded by New Zealand-based Emma Lewisham, champions evidence-based, natural skincare and is leading the way in circular, climate-positive skincare. Feel-good beauty, all round. They are selling fast, so don't wait.

HELMUT LANG WHITE SHIRT

£160 (was £400 but currently on sale!)

A brand built on clean lines and utilitarian minimalism, Helmut Lang was known for stripping away ornamentation and blurring masculine and feminine codes. This long, oversized white shirt captures that spirit — crisp pointed collar, ultra-soft cotton poplin, and a cut that’s both sharp and effortless. Designed as unisex, it works with everything (or nothing underneath!). I wear it open over a tee, or fully buttoned up with a tie or necklace layered on. The cuffs look great worn loose AND it’s currently on sale from £400 to £160 here!
